Making your own cakes and biscuits is immensely rewarding and good fun. All the cakes and bakes on this course are essentially very simple if you know how, but is suitable for all abilities. You will be able to develop confidence and knowledge about ingredients, cooking methods and you will be encouraged to take a more active role in food preparation, making healthier choices and saving money. We will be making victoria sponge, coffee walnut cake, scones, thick cut marmalade loaf, welsh cakes, lemon drizzle cake, chelsea buns, sticky nutty flapjacks and carrot cake. Apron, tea towels, small knife and containers to take your food home in. 1 x 900gm loaf tin, 1 x 20cm spring form loose bottom tin, 2 x 20 8' round shallow cake tins, 1 rectangular shallow cake tin ( approx 67x9 27x18). Please see attached ingredients list for week 1, further weeks will be given out in class.
