You will acquire and use a wide range of transferable skills during the course. These will include writing for particular audiences and purposes, analysing written, electronic and spoken texts, identifying arguments and expressing informed and independent opinions. These skills are in demand from employers, universities and colleges and are also valuable in their own right. A number of Higher Education courses and occupations are open to students with AS or A Level in English Language, particularly in areas such as journalism, media and law. The study of English Language would complement AS Levels in English Literature, Modern Languages, History, Psychology or Sociology.
