A Level English Literature

You will need a grade B or above in GCSE English. It is necessary to have taken English Literature at GCSE. You will study a minimum of four texts for AS covering prose, poetry and drama. At least one of the texts will be from before 1900. For A Level you will study a minimum of eight texts, covering prose, poetry and drama including at least three published before 1900 and at least one that was published after 2000. One of the Drama texts will be by Shakespeare.
