At least 5 A* - C grades at GCSE including Mathematics grade B and English grade C, along with a systematic and logical approach to problem solving is essential. Previous Computing and ICT qualifications are not required but students who do not have a relevant GCSE (or equivalent) will need to show an understanding of computers in general and a strong interest in the subject. Technical computing skills are a specialist and highly sought after skill set in many areas of business. This course offers an excellent starting point for many computing related careers including programming and software engineering. On completion of the course students will have developed excellent problem solving skills, a knowledge of programming and an in depth understanding of how computers work from both a hardware and software perspective.
