An agriculture advanced apprenticeship will often be for those who have already successfully completed a relevant level 2 provision and/or who hold appropriate employment, expertise and responsibilities performed within the workplace. You must be employed within the agriculture sector and display a strong interest in your job role, as well as being able to demonstrate enthusiasm and a strong determination to succeed as a recognised professional within industry. Ideal if: you have already successfully completed a relevant level 2 qualification, or have appropriate employment, expertise and responsibilities. You ll need: a level 2 agriculture qualification or apprenticeship, although relevant prior experience will be considered. You'll also need GCSEs at grade D or above in English and mathematics, or a level 1 functional skills qualification. You ll learn: to develop your agricultural abilities and advance your knowledge and understanding of livestock practices. The course includes: farm visits, visiting speakers and seminars, studying farming systems and farm accounts and records. Expect: to work with your employer for most of the week, attending college one day per week to cover 50% practical and 50% theory work. You'll also work towards a level 2 functional skills qualification in English and mathematics. You ll love: the chance to earn money while gaining a nationally recognised qualification. You ll go onto: improve your promotion prospects or progress to an Agriculture City & Guilds Extended Diploma, an Agricultural Business Management City & Guilds Diploma Level 4 (work-based) or to university study such as our Foundation Degree in Agriculture.
