Ideal if: you want to obtain an industry recognised gas qualification and become a Domestic Gas Heating Engineer. You'll need:at least three GCSEs at grade C or above and to take an initial assessment. You will also need to seek employment with a gas heating company, where you will work under supervision with a qualified person. You'll learn: topics such as installation, commissioning, service and maintenance techniques, health and safety, the combustion and poperties of gas, and building services and structures. Expect: to attend college one day a week for the 3-year duration of the course. There will also be block weeks to complete the practical elements. You will be given training on both theory and practical on all units throughout the course, You will take assessments which consist of pracical elements, examinations and assignments, and will need to collect evidence in the workplace. You'll love: learning the skills to gain an excellent career opportunity in an exciting and ever evolving industry. You'll go onto: employment or study for additional gas qualifications to further your knowledge, experience and employability within the industry.
