Childcare and Education CACHE Diploma Level 3 (Early Years Educator)

This is a brand new 2 year programme developed by CACHE to meet the requirements of the National College of Teaching and Leadership and the demands of the sector for a professional Early Years workforce. The qualification equips learners for life as an early years practitioner',' granting occupational competence to work unsupervised with children aged from 0-5 years in a range of settings. Alternatively',' learners can progress on to degree level courses on completion of the course. Throughout the course learners will build up their practical skills through weekly attendance of work placements at baby units',' nurseries and schools',' where they will be assessed on their performance by their allocated college-based assessor as they work towards completion of the two mandatory Professional Practice Portfolio units. The other thirteen compulsory units provide the knowledge and understanding which underpin the practical skills: Child development from conception to seven years Children's health and well-being Providing safe environments for children Child Health Play and learning Understanding childrens additional needs Observation',' assessment and planning Supporting emergent literacy Supporting emergent mathematics Preparing for school readiness International perspectives Reflective practice for professional development Professional partnerships in early years All the units are internally assessed through a variety of methods',' including: Interpretation of knowledge from direct observation of practice in the workplace Written assignments Learner's own plans and written records Professional discussion Reflection on own practice in real work situations During the course learners must also complete a Reflective Study and one Extended Essay',' both of which are externally set and externally marked by CACHE.
