Biology is the science of life and its study will provide deeper understanding of the human body, animals, plants and the natural environment and the increasingly important field of genetics and DNA technology. You will gain insights into the remarkable elegance of living systems whilst developing key scientific skills. Topics studied at AS level include cell biology, biochemistry, human health and disease and the variety of life. Taken to A level you will also study genetics, DNA technology, respiration and photosynthesis, ecology, nerves and hormones and homeostasis.
