Awarding body: AQA A' Level Physical Education is a challenging course which in recent years has achieved the distinction it deserves. The theory syllabus covers the scientific, socio-cultural and environmental factors which influence Physical Education. This includes topics as diverse as anatomy and physiology, sports psychology and skill acquisition, sport and society and technology in sport. The theory part of the course is examined with the coursework/practical elements being assessed internally. The syllabus stresses the importance of being able to translate the theoretical work into performing and coaching situations and being able to critically evaluate these areas.
