If you want to study on a mainly practical Drama and Theatre Studies course and you have the self-discipline and determination to improve your knowledge and a passion for the performing arts, then this is the course for you. This two year course explores a wide range of practical aspects and theoretical aspects of the Drama and Theatre. You learn through a variety of practical workshops, lectures, devising projects and production projects as well as having the opportunity to see live professional theatre performances. The focus of this programme of study is to prepare you for all areas of the Theatre industry including classical stage, contemporary techniques and practitioners. Students with a strong background in/natural talent for the Performing Arts would enjoy this A Level course.

Name: WJEC Eduqas Level 3 Advanced Subsidiary GCE in Drama and Theatre Qualification title: GCE AS Level in Drama and Theatre Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment Component 1: Devising (Internally assessed)  Devise and perform an original performance piece using a play text and a theatre practitioner as stimuli.  Create a portfolio (handwritten or verbally recorded) of the devising process. Component 2: Text in Performance (externally assessed by a visiting examiner)  A group performance of one key extract from a chosen performance text.  A monologue or duologue from a play. Component 3: Theatre Makers in Practice (Exam)  A live theatre evaluation.  Written exam based on your practical exploration of a script and practitioner.
