UPDATED 20151006 13:31:49

Working from initial design ideas and three dimensional maquettes, you will investigate fabrication and construction. Your sculpture will be completed in metal. Help and guidance will be given in generating preliminary ideas for sculptural forms, in materials such as plaster, cardboard and timber. Advice will be given on choosing specific materials which best suit your concept and the potential results that may be expected from various metals. Explore the construction of artwork using our welding facilities, and learn how to use this specialism to a competent level. Additionally, you will investigate the fabrication of sculpture without the requirement of welding, such as nuts, bolts and rivets. The course will enable you to understand and use many hand and power tools, materials and equipment.
