On this course you will learn traditional techniques and explore contemporary practices to create innovative handmade papers which can be used for book arts, printmaking and textiles. Tutor, Elaine Cooper, is a leading expert in the art of Washi in the UK, having studied for 10 years with Akira Goto, the Master Papermaker in Mino City, Japan. Mino Washi has recently been awarded world cultural heritage status by UNESCO.
