Through Advanced GCE qualifications, learners should develop a more critical understanding of the travel and tourism industry and the connections between different parts of the industry, through sustained use of a range of research techniques, and apply this understanding in unfamiliar contexts. In addition, learners should be encouraged to develop a holistic view of the travel and tourism industry and an understanding of the interrelationship and interdependencies of its different sectors. They should also have the opportunity for an in-depth study of one or more sectors and its operation, and develop ski ll s to deal with complex situations and problems.
