The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Art and Design consists of four mandatory units plus optional units that provide for a combined total of 60 credits and 360 guided learning hours (GLH) for the completed qualification. For the general pathway, the 20 credits of optional units required, may be selected from across both the Art and Design Specialist list (Group E) and the Professional Specialist list (Group C). For the endorsed titles, of the 20 credits required from optional units, a minimum of 10 credits must be chosen from one of the endorsed title Specialist lists (Groups F-M) and up to a maximum of 10 credits from the Professional Specialist list (Group C) and/or any other pathway-specific group.
