In Year 12, students will investigate three units. Unit 1 will cover what is meant by effective communication and interpersonal skills and how these may affect the outcomes for people who use services. Unit 2 will look at Equality, diversity and rights of individuals. This will include looking at case studies and the treatment of individuals. Unit 12 will investigate public health and how it is monitored and how it can be promoted within society. In Year 13 students will investigate the risks involved when working in the HSC sector and see how to minimise these risks (Unit 3). To develop their understanding they will study Unit 4 on human lifespan development looking at life stages and factors that can affect development. Finally students will look at how to promote health education (Unit 20). This will enable learners to develop their own health promotion campaign and evaluate its effectiveness.
