Four units over two years, two in Year 12 for ‘AS’ Level and two in Year 13 for ‘A2’ Level. One unit each year will be Religious Ethics and one unit will be Judaism. The ‘AS’ Level Ethics unit in Year 12 covers the study of a variety of ethical theories and their practical application in medical ethics and the ethics of war. The ‘AS’ Level Judaism unit will study beliefs and practice and the roles of gender in Jewish thought and practice. The ‘A2’ Level Year 13 Ethics unit will cover ethical language, free will, the theory of conscience along with the ethics of sex, business ethics and the environment. The ‘A2’ Level Judaism unit will study the concepts of Israel and the Messiah, the Holocaust and developments within Judaism including the Diaspora and Progressive Judaism.
