Unit 1 - Measurements and their errors Students explore the question why do we need precision and accuracy and why is that important for future engineers and physicists? Unit 2 - Particles and Radiation Students discover a range of new and exciting particles, there various uses in modern technology and about the weirdness of the quantum world. Unit 3 - Waves Can matter travel in waves? How does the technology that underpins cloaking work? This topic answers these by studying the behaviour of a variety of different waves. Unit 4 - Mechanics and Materials Are there materials strong enough to build a tower into space? Students will study the behaviour of solid materials and be able to describe their motion to make predictions. Unit 5 - Electricity This unit helps to explain the electrical components which exists in everyday devices by thinking about electricity on both the large and microscopic scale.
