We follow the AQA specification. This course allows in-depth study of a range of topics relating to the culture and society of German speaking countries, as well as developing candidates’ grammatical skills and awareness. AS Components: Social aspects and trends of German-speaking society (the changing state of the family, the digital world, youth culture – fashion, trends, music and television) Artistic culture in the German speaking world (cultural life in Berlin: past and present, festivals and traditions, art and architecture) Study of a German novel or film. A2 Components: Multi-culturalism in German-speaking society (immigration, integration, racism) Political life in the German-speaking world (Germany and the EU, politics and youth, German re-unification and its consequences) Study of another German novel or film Individual research project to form basis of A2 speaking exam (the research of a subject or key question which is of interest to you and which relates to a German-speaking country)
