Foundation Portfolio: Students research, plan and produce two paired media artefacts in film production: a preliminary exercise in basic film production and the opening sequences of a new fictional film. Key Media Concepts: This unit includes the textual analysis of various technical aspects of the languages and conventions of the moving image media: TV Drama. Students will also study the contemporary institutional processes of production, distribution, marketing and the consumption of the Music Industry and the Film Industry. Advanced Portfolio: Students explore a wider breadth of media forms and develop production skills to create either: a promotional package for the release of an album or a short film. The music promo comprises a music video and a choice of: a band website, band DVD cover or a magazine advert for the DVD release.
