BTEC Extended Certificate in ICT

This is a vocational course aimed to equip you with the skills required for higher education or employment in the IT industry. You will gain a broad range of skills which are transferable to the world of work. The Subsidiary Diploma is the equivalent of one A Level and comprises six units: • Unit 1: Communication and employability skills in IT • Unit 2: Computer systems • Unit 3: Information systems • Unit 4: Impact of the use of IT on business systems • Unit 30: Digital graphics • Unit 42: Spreadsheet modelling These qualifications are designed to enable students to enter employment at operative or trainee level within a wide range of environments using ICT. Such students would normally enter employment through a workrelated training programme or go on to further studies in this area.
