In ICT you will study the different ways which organisations and people use technology in their everyday lives. In this course you will look at the uses of different technologies and the thinking behind the decisions organisations make. Students are encouraged to consider the political, ethical, legal and social implications of technology. This qualification can help give you access to Higher Education in ICT related courses. Transferable skills include problem-solving, logical thinking, project management and independent planning or work. The course runs over two years and the structure is as follows: AS INFO 1: Practical Problem solving in the Digital World requires students to create a digital solution to a problem. The evidence they create is then used in the written examination. AS INFO 2: Living in the Digital World requires students to consider how different people use ICT in their everyday lives. A2 INFO 3: The Use of ICT in the Digital World requires students to look at how ICT is used in different organisations. A2 INFO 4: Practical Issues Involved in the use of ICT in the Digital World is a coursework based unit where students create a solution to a real problem.
