What will I do on the course? Over the two years the students will work on 6 separate modules studying the following; 1. Development of practical skills in Biology 2. Foundations in Biology 3. Exchange and transport 4. Biodiversity, evolution and disease 5. Communication, homeostasis and energy 6. Genetics, evolution and ecosystems At the end of year 13 candidates will be expected to take 3 exams assessing each of the components above. The 3 exams will be spread over 6 hours. There is a practical component in Biology that students will be required to undertake on a Pass / Fail grade, however, this will not count towards their overall Advanced Level grade. Note: Students can take an AS Level in Biology; however, this is optional and may not be examined in the first year of study. The A2 includes the AS content and will be assessed at the end of the second year of study.
