Travel and Tourism Exam Board: Edexcel/BTEC Key Work To ensure appropriate progress is being made in the subject, student passports will need to be signed off in the interim period. Deadlines are set in accordance with task requirements which are typically fortnightly. Feedback and opportunities to improve work will be offered. All year 12 and 13 students have interim passport deadlines of 4th December 2015 and 21st March 2016. All year 12 students will have to have to their full completed passport signed off by 24th June 2016. Is this the course for me? BTEC Travel and Tourism : •Appeals to full-time learners interested in a career in the Travel and Tourism industry. •Includes an introduction to and understanding of the Travel and Tourism industry, investigating Travel and Tourism as a business, customer service and the research of different holiday destinations both in the UK and overseas. •Allows a great deal of choice and flexibility. This provides choice and personalisation opportunities for teachers and learners. •Addresses sector needs and skills gaps identified in the emerging Sector Qualification Strategy (SQS) for Travel and Tourism including customer service skills, destination geography, knowledge of working with children, and business skills. •Contextualises theory where possible so that learners are able to apply their knowledge to the real world. •Allows learners to keep track of their progress and ensure they are meeting their potential.
