This course provides an ideal opportunity for an in-depth exploration of Public Services. You also gain valuable experience and a qualification prior to starting work within a particular Public Service. The course is made up of units of study that are designed to help you gain a clear insight into a variety of Public Services' related career paths by studying such aspects as styles of leadership and discipline, understanding the impact of government policies and society, the effects of criminal behaviour and terrorism and national and international perspectives of Uniformed Public Services. You will also be required to take part in a variety of outdoor and fitness activities to provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge in preparation for your chosen career. Your course is enhanced by Functional Skills ICT. This course also includes: Tutorials Assignments and project coursework Development of presentation skills Fitness training Visits to/from local public service providers to enable you to gain a further insight into the world of Public Services Outdoor and adventurous pursuits You will be encouraged to work in groups, to communicate effectively, to identify and resolve problems and to organise yourself and the work of others.
