The AS comprises two units: Unit 1: (40% of AS) Unit 2: (60% of AS) The A2 is also split into two: Unit 3: (40% of A2) Unit 4: (60% 0f A2) Unit 1 – Exploration of two texts, through practical workshops in class and written coursework (3000 words plus 1000 on live performance.) Assessed by the teacher. Unit 2 Theatre text in performance – externally examined performance work: monologue or duologue plus a group performance. Unit 3: Devised Theatre – performing from a script or adapting an existing script with your own ideas. Assessed by the teacher – in lessons, through final performance and 3500 words of coursework. Unit 4: Final examination on a set text and comparing a live production with its original performance conditions.
