Art and artistic talent is encouraged not just in lessons, but as part of extra curricular events and activities. Local and national artists visit the department to share their work and help inspire our students.Design Technology is a specialist area of study. It prepares you for working in a modern technological society, involving designing and making products using knowledge and skills learnt in other subjects, as well as learning technical skills. It will also give you generic life skills which will be useful to all.Design Technology encourages you to develop independence through designing and making, as well as through more focused practical tasks. The type of work you do develops important planning, organisational, and project management skills. As society develops, the designer and the technologist will be at the forefront of change.
