Unit 1 (Breadth Study) Tsarist and Communist Russia, 1855-1964 This unit is taught in Year 13. It deals with the Soviet Union from 1917-1964, covering the emergence of Communist dictatorship under Stalin as well as reaction to this. The final part of this unit deals with the Soviet Union under Khrushchev. Unit 2 (Depth Study) The Wars of the Roses, 1450-1499 This unit deals with the reigns of Edward IV, Richard III and the triumph of the Tudors under Henry VII to 1499. Unit 3 Historical Investigation (non-exam unit) Students devise and select their own focus for enquiry, based on a study of 16th century England, in order to work as an historian to produce a piece of research independently.
