BTEC Nationals are designed to provide specialist work-related qualifications in a range of sectors, providing learners with knowledge, understanding and skills required for employment and higher education. The Level 3 BTEC Nationals in Information Technology have been developed in the areas of Computing and IT Systems and focus on full-time learners gaining a nationally recognised vocationally specific qualification to enter employment as an IT practitioner or progress to higher education vocational qualifications. The BTEC National Subsidiary Dipolma in IT offers an engaging programme for 16-19 years olds who have an idea about the area of employment that they may wish to enter. Such learners, however, will also undertake the study of A Levels alongside this course. It is broadly the equivalent of 1 A Level.
