This course is a path way into the game industry where you will explore the industry in a practical environment and learn the principles of a career in games. The course is designed for students to decide and focus on their strongest areas and will allow you to choose a career in other areas such as graphics and marketing. This is a Study Programme course which, if successful, leads to the 90 credit qualification over one year and progression to the full 180 credit qualification over 2 years. Studying at City College will give you the skills to write for games production as well as managing your own independent company. You will learn how to use industry standard 3D modeling software and create your own world from your game idea. You will develop your skills in concept art and learn professional skills in marketing, management and team work. In a discussion style lesson you will challenge yourself to demonstrate the issues within the industry as well using workshops to explore your creative side in art and modeling. There will be plenty of independent and group study time where you can prepare yourself what the games industry will expect from you.
