Paper 1 – Literary Genres Students will write about three texts, at least one of which will be a Shakespeare text. This is a closed book exam, and lasts for 2 hours 30 minutes. Paper 2 – Texts and Genres This exam paper focuses on elements of political writing and crime writing. Students will write about three texts plus one unseen text. This is an open book exam, and last for 3 hours. Coursework: Theory and Independence Students are expected to write two essays of 1250 -1500 words, each responding to a different text and linking to a different aspect of the Critical Anthology- such as Feminism or Marxism. Two texts are studied: one poetry and one prose.
