The AS Course is designed to give an understanding of some of the fundamental ideas in Chemistry in the areas of; • Topic 1: Physical Chemistry: Atomic structure and Bonding • Topic 2: Inorganic Chemistry: The alkaline earth metals (group 2) and halogens (group 7) of the periodic table • Topic 3: Organic Chemistry: The structure and properties of alkanes, alkenes and alcohols.
