AS Geography

The AS course focuses on contemporary issues within Geography. Two core units of Global Population Change and Rivers and Floods and their Management are taught alongside two other units of Health Issues and Coasts. A geographical skills paper tests data handling and field work techniques. Students are encouraged to carry out their own reading and research to build knowledge and skills. Fieldwork is an essential part of the course as a means of learning data collection techniques, data handling, presentation and applying theory.
