The GCE in Design and Technology has been designed to provide opportunities for students to develop their creativity, capability and entrepreneurial skills; to apply knowledge and understanding to a range of technological activities and to develop critical thinking and collaborative skills. This AS requires students to demonstrate the application and understanding of materials and components, industrial and commercial practice, quality, health and safety, systems and control and products/outcomes and applications. The qualification develops the skills of communicating ideas and information, evaluating, designing, planning and making.
