Classics AS

UPDATED 20160805 11:05:31

Classics AS - Classics is the study of the culture, history and thought of the civilisations of ancient Greece and Rome. While the ancient world may seem remote, the study of Classics can help us to make sense of the world as it is today. The nature and impact of various cultural and religious developments, the responses of societies to complex social and economic challenges, the issues of justice, discrimination and violence were as much part of the ancient world as they are of ours. It is one of the most varied and interdisciplinary of all subjects. This specification requires students to take the AS exam at the end of Y12 before moving onto the A2 course in Y13.
