Students will study and be examined on the British education system, and the changing nature of family life in contemporary society. Students will also study a variety of sociological research methods. There are two exams at AS each worth 50% of the AS qualification. Each exam lasts for 1 hour 30 minutes and is worth 60 marks. The exams consist of short answer and extended writing questions. AS and A-level Sociology helps students to make sense of the society we live in and understand the cultural and identity issues which affect us all. They will learn a number of skills including the use of evidence to support your arguments, how to investigate facts, and critical thinking.
