English Literature A Level

UPDATED 20150930 10:08:28

The study of English Literature allows students to develop their passion for reading and discussing all types of literature into transferrable analytical and interpretative skills. Over the two years, students will learn how to write with eloquence and accuracy and will be encouraged to form their own interpretations of the texts studied. They will also learn about the effects of social, historical and political contexts on texts and be able to draw connections and comparisons between and within various works. As part of the A Level course, students choose their own texts for their coursework which both encourages independent learning and allows students to share their ideas on their favourite texts with others.
