The BTEC qualification in Sport provides an introduction to the sector for learners looking to build a career in sport, within one of its occupational areas. These areas include careers in exercise and fitness, coaching and leadership, sports development and the outdoors. The qualifications will equip you with the necessary knowledge, understanding and skills that you need to prepare yourself for employment within the sporting industry. Studying BTEC Sports Studies is an excellent way to combine both practical and theoretical aspects of sport without the pressure of an exam! All work is internally assessed in the BTEC Sport qualifications. Assessment is solely coursework based. For each unit a summative unit grade can be awarded at pass, merit or distinction. These are then calculated to obtain an overall grade. You will learn to develop many skills already acquired in Physical Education as well as exploring new ones to push your ability further! The Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence) is equivalent to 2 A Levels, if sufficient demand exists we would consider running this course as an Extended Diploma which is worth 3 A levels.
