Students will explore a wide range of Art & Design Skills and use a broad range of materials. Students will develop the skills they gained at GCSE and develop a greater awareness of a wide range of Artists and Art Movements. Students will create a portfolio of creative artwork chosen from various starting points, topics and themes. This will allow for the development of ideas to explore Artwork in a variety of mediums from painting and printmaking through to sculpture and other 3D art forms.Students can progress on to an Art Foundation course that will lead them on to a variety of creative Degree Courses. Students who gain A Level Art are also looked favourably by a wide variety of admissions tutors who like to see that their students are both creative and lateral thinkers; from teaching through to business studies and many more. Students can also go straight into employment where a wide range of creative skills are welcome from catering and childcare to hairdressing, photography and journalism.
