On our Level 1 Diploma in Site Carpentry you will learn the basics of woodwork and joinery, from shaping timber for floorboards to making and assembling doors and window frames. If you have an eye for detail and want to work towards an industry standard level, our Level 1 Diploma in Site Carpentry could become the foundation to your future. All of our construction programmes are delivered at the Engineering and construction campus, a purpose-built unit that simulates an industrial working environment for practical learning. Topics of study include: ◾Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries ◾Knowledge of technical information, quantities and communication with others ◾Knowledge of construction technology ◾Maintain and use carpentry and joinery hand tools ◾Produce woodworking joints We have fantastic relationships with local and national industry leaders who provide work experience opportunities and take part in guest speaker sessions for our students. We place a huge level of importance on securing beneficial work experience for students, which allows them to learn in a new environment and put the skills they have gained at college into practice.
