The fashion industry has a constant need for talented, creative people who are prepared to work hard to realise their ideas and ambitions. Students who have studied fashion at NHC have progressed onto study at some prestigious universities and have secured employment at some of the biggest names in British fashion including Burberry, French Connection, Christopher Kane, Nicole Farhi, Joseph and Ben Sherman. This programme is accredited by the University of the Arts, London (UAL), which has a world-class reputation within the creative industry. You’ll learn to generate your own ideas, which you’ll carry through every stage of the process to the final catwalk show. Taught by professional designers and technical specialists, you’ll create practical outcomes that meet industry standards. Working in a creative, supportive environment, you’ll learn a variety of skills including: ◾Fashion illustration ◾Pattern cutting ◾Garment construction ◾Textile design ◾Printmaking ◾Knit ◾Fabric manipulation We have some great links with the fashion industry and you’ll have the opportunity to undertake work placements at some of Britain’s top fashion houses including French Connection, Top Shop, H&M, Joseph, Nicole Farhi, John Lewis and BHS. You’ll also part in live projects and competitions throughout the year working in the costume department at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and with top fashion journalist Hilary Alexander at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham.

Name: Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design - Fashion Qualification title: Diploma in Art and Design (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment You will be continually assessed on the coursework produced for your assignments, receiving feedback throughout the projects to improve the quality of your work and stretch your ability. The final assignments you produce at the end of your first and second years will be externally moderated and graded either as referral, pass, merit or distinction.
