Candidates will be encouraged to:- 1. develop an understanding of the factors influencing performance and the ability to apply these to a range of physical activities 2. develop the skills necessary to analyse, evaluate and improve performance 3. develop an appreciation of the social, moral and cultural issues which affect participation and performance in physical activity, in the UK, USA and Australia. Candidates will also have the opportunity to:- 1. develop the capacity to think critically about the relationships between the different factors affecting performance 2. develop the capacity to explain the current provision for participation in physical activity in the context of social issues and global trends
