You will study a range of topics relating to different types of media. In AS Media Studies you will learn to understand film, television, print images, advertising and documentaries; how films and TV programmes are structured and who creates these media products; how audiences are targeted and the way that different groups are represented in the media. In the second year, you will develop your understanding of certain critical perspectives relating to the media, with an emphasis on how the media is an increasingly powerful force in the world. In both years, you will spend time planning and making your own media product.
