A Level Drama. Drama and Theatre Studies is a creative, practical subject that offers students the opportunity to work individually and as part of small and large groups. The course is broken up into four units – 2 at AS level and 2 at A2 level. These cover the following: • Unit 1 (AS) – The practical and written exploration of two full plays, including a written evaluation of live theatre which will therefore require numerous theatre during the course. • Unit 2 (AS) – The practical performance of a play in a group and a monologue/duologue, which Includes opportunities for Theatre Practice studies and accompanied by a written performance concept. • Unit 3 (A2) – Students to devise and perform an original piece of theatre to a target audience and a written evaluation. • Unit 4 (A2) – A written examination on the study of a whole play text in the role of director and going to see a Shakespeare Play and comparing this to the original performance conditions.
