English Literature A

UPDATED 20160826 13:34:57

An enjoyable and inspiring course that encourages students to study a variety of texts, from Chaucer to the modern day. The focus of this course is the analysis of fictional texts, enabling students to develop their own interpretations skills as well and to contemplate and study the views of critics. To succeed in this course it is preferable that you enjoy reading. Also an interest in History can be of benefit, as at times you will need to link the texts to the context; however you don’t need to be an avid Historian to thrive. The course consists of 3 units at A-Level and 2 units at AS.
