A Level Sociology

A Level Sociology Sociology is a subject that requires you to think beyond the obvious and how everyday life can be influenced by deeper influences in society. At AS level in Unit 1 you will study the formation of culture and understand how we form our social identity in the areas of gender, ethnicity, class and age. You will also explore how we are influenced by institutions such as the peer group, family and media. You will also investigate how sociologists carry out research and critically evaluate topical research reports. In the AS Unit 2 you will explore the Family and its impact on individuals. At A2 you will study Power and Control in society with a focus on education and the impact of social inequalities on people in society. It is guaranteed that you will see society in a different way after studying this course!
