The Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Sport consists of eight core units plus 4 optional specialist units that provide for a combined total of 720 guided learning hours for the completed qualification. There are 2 practical based units one of which will involve performance and analysis of 2 team games and the other following the same format but covering 2 individual sports. Much of the work will be portfolio based but there will also be the opportunity for practical performance and developing key sports leadership skills which are assessed using witness statements. WHAT DOES THE extended diploma COURSE INVOLVE? The Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport consists of eight core units plus 10 optional specialist units that provide for a combined total of 1080 guided learning hours for the completed qualification. There are 2 practical based units one of which will involve performance and analysis of 2 team games and the other following the same format but covering 2 individual sports. A lot of the work will be portfolio based but there will also be the opportunity for practical performance and developing key sports leadership skills which are assessed using witness statements.
