Gain the skills needed to work in the floristry industry. You will have the opportunity to create contemporary and traditional flower arrangements, create your own ideas using floral art skills, make exciting floral table decorations and re-search the craft industry organisations. A portfolio must be produced for the qualification. The scheme is designed to be flexible. For the Certificate, you must complete unit 201, plus at least 20 credits from the following units:Unit 201 Introduction to art and design for florists (6 credits)Unit 205 Plan, prepare and construct funeral designs (10 credits)Unit 206 Plan, prepare and construct floral arrangements (10 credits). The Venue, The Maltings, this course is ideal for anyone interested in going into the floristry industry or volunteering in a Floristry setting and has completed a level 1 qualification previously. This course will help you to develop the skills and knowledge required to work in Floristry. You will engage in learning and develop the personal skills and attributes that are key for successful progression in working life. You will be able to participate in the making of practical designs. Your tutor will help you to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills in a taught class. Your tutor will also support you to put together your folder of evidence, assess your work and give you feedback. There are no examinations. Additional Support in Literacy, Numeracy and ESOL is available for those learners who may benefit from this. The majority of activity will take place in the classroom however there will be an opportunity to take part in enrichment activities such as excursions to flower shows and to design and create an exhibition of your floral displays. Your tutor will give you feedback on how well you are going. You will have an Individual Learning Plan and discussions with your tutor to review your progress.
