Writing Creatively About Art

UPDATED 20150929 14:16:58

You will have the opportunity to explore creative writing for pleasure and self-expression, taking inspiration from Wolverhampton Art Gallery's collection and changing exhibitions. Each session will include guided writing exercises, encouragement to edit and develop work and to share it with participants, as well as opportunities for free writing in response to areas of interest in the Art Gallery. Learning will take place at one of the region's most prestigious art galleries in its exhibition spaces and learning suites. The gallery's learning teams will use different teaching methods to meet the needs of learners including: gallery tours, discussions, presentations, and demonstrations. Learning will take place in a safe and supportive environment, and our informative but informal approach will ensure that all students, regardless of previous knowledge and experience will feel welcome. Support and feedback is provided throughout each session by the tutor. At the end of each session, you will have to record your achievements on your Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and the main important point (s) learnt during the session. This is a non-accredited programme. You will receive on request an attendance certificate from the Adult Education Service for completing this course. We offer a variety of daytime and evening creative classes which you may like to try in order to widen your experience and broaden your skills. To further broaden your skills, you can find out about different types of courses including Higher Education and routes into employment.
