This course will introduce you to the basic skills of observational drawing, perspective, scale and proportion . You will learn to use various media such as pencil, charcoal and ink. There are also group discussions about artists' works and current art exhibitions. There are opportunities for the use of information learning technology (ILT) to develop your work, research artists and art movements. This course will help you to develop your basic drawing skills. It will provide learners with the underpinning knowledge of the creative process and a firm foundation from which to progress to study and develop your creative ability to a higher level. This is a practical course. You will learn through tutor demonstration and presentation, independent practical activities, research to develop ideas and knowledge and by producing a range of artworks. Your tutor will give you verbal feedback during each lesson and written feedback at regular intervals. Throughout the course you will discuss with your tutor what you want to achieve and record it on your individual learning plan (ILP). You will decide with your tutor how long it will take to achieve your goal. This course is non-accredited.
