Name: Music Qualification title: - Qualification type: GCE A/AS Level or equivalent Assessment Performance – This is likely to be to an external examiner visiting the centre and of a duration of around 8 minutes for AS and around 15 minutes for A level. It will be assessed externally and internally. Composition – This will be completed under controlled conditions to exam board briefs. Detailed and accurate scores must also be completed under controlled conditions. Compositions will last around the 4 minute mark. Longer/more compositions required for A Level. This will be assessed externally. Listening and appraising – This will be assessed by examination and externally assessed. It is likely to involved responding to unfamiliar music in a listening assessment and responding in extended written form to questions on set works and general music history questions.
